Grad Rock is a climbing area in the Douglas Ranger District of Coronado National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits close to several other named climbing areas, including Trad Rock, Rad Rock and The Attic, all about 0.1 mile away, which makes it easy to link into a longer outing in this cluster. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the Tombstone weather station, about 12 miles away, show April highs near 79°F and October highs near 81°F, while July and August average highs in the low 90s and bring more wet days. The routes here range from trad climbing on Raja at 5.7 to sport and mixed routes in the 5.11a range. Bitching Old Man is a 5.11a sport route, and Evangeline the Rascal is a 5.11a/b mixed route. Slavin Gulch, a hike about 0.7 mile away, and Smith Hill Trail, about 1.3 miles off, are the closest hikes. For an overnight stay, Cochise Stronghold campground is about 4.3 miles away.
