Apache Leap is a climbing area in the Globe Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with The Magma Gardens, Upper Looner Land and the Garland Area all about a mile away. The area has 10 routes, mostly sport climbs with one trad route. Grades run from 5.3 to 5.10, with the hardest being Broken Arrow at 5.10b. Nancy Lee is the easiest at 5.3, and Geronimo and Trimmed Bush are both 5.7. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Miami, Arizona, show April highs around 78°F and October highs around 84°F, while July averages about 100°F. That station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower than the area, so temperatures here run cooler. Oak Flat campground is about 2.3 miles away, and the Legends of Superior Trail is about 1.4 miles off.
