Broadside is a hard hike in the Flagstaff Ranger District of Coconino National Forest in Arizona, about 6.6 miles long with a one-way elevation gain of 690 feet. The trail is natural-surfaced and not accessible, and it starts at the Sunset Trailhead, which is also known as the SUNSET parking area. The route is an out-and-back that climbs from a low point of 8,064 feet to a high of 8,753 feet. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically May and September, when typical averages from the nearby Ft Valley weather station run around 71°F and 76°F, with fewer wet days than the summer months. That station sits roughly 1,400 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. Schultz Creek Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Tonteel and Rusty Pipe mountain biking routes are each about 0.3 mile off. Climbers can find the Left Wall and Middle Wall areas about 1.1 miles away.
