The Point is a Forest Service campground in the Mesa Ranger District of Tonto National Forest in Arizona, about 1.8 miles from the Mormon Flat weather station. It sits on Canyon Lake and is set up for boat access only, with three designated camp units that can also be used for day picnics. Summer is the season for boaters and anglers. Typical averages from the nearby Mormon Flat station show July highs around 106°F and lows near 80°F, while November and March run milder, with highs in the mid-70s. No fees are required to use the site, and the only facility is vault toilets. There is no garbage collection, so visitors must pack in and pack out. Palo Verde, a lake fishing spot, is 1.8 miles away, and Tortilla Campground is 2.1 miles off. Upper La Barge Canyon and Boulder Canyon Trail are both within about 4 miles.
