Strayhorse Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Clifton Ranger District of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests in eastern Arizona. The land is managed by the Forest Service, and the site offers vault toilets as the only amenity. There is no fee to camp here. Late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Alpine, Arizona weather station show May highs around 69°F and October highs around 64°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 15 a month. Several short hikes start close by. The Raspberry trail is about 0.1 mile away, and Mckittrick and Blue Cabin Ruins are both about 0.8 mile away. For more camping, Kp Cienega Campground sits about 2.8 miles from the site.
