Hickory Tree Road is an easy out-and-back hike in the Conecuh Ranger District of the National Forests in Alabama, about 5 miles from the town of Rome. The route is roughly 2.6 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 96 feet, so it's a short walk with almost no climb. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Andalusia show October highs around 79°F with lows near 53°F, and April is similar at about 78°F by day and 50°F at night. Summer runs hotter, with July highs near 91°F. Several other trails and a lake lie close by.
