About Ski Rio
Ski Rio is a former ski area in northern New Mexico that operated in the past but is now abandoned. The site remains in the high country of the state, though there are no active ski operations, lifts, or maintained runs. Visitors exploring the area will find only the remnants of what was once a winter recreation destination — there are no services, no snow grooming, and no infrastructure to support skiing or snowboarding. Access to the abandoned site is difficult and unsafe; the area is not maintained for public use.
