About Turkey Trailhead
The Turkey Trail is approximately a 10-mile hike beginning at the Cimarron Picnic Area on Highway 27. Named for the large flock of wild turkey present, the trail meanders along the Cimarron River, providing many opportunities for viewing wildlife, particularly birds, different varieties of vegetation and camping. The Turkey Trail begins at the far eastern end of Cottonwood Picnic Grounds near the southern end of the Cimarron River bridge on highway 27. The trail ends one mile east of Wilburton Crossing.
