The Vermilion River connecting Lake Vermilion to Vermilion Lake near Tower is a productive walleye and northern pike fishery with excellent current fishing opportunities. The river's rocky bottom and moderate flow create ideal habitat for walleye staging during spring and fall migrations between the connected lakes. Casting jigs and live bait rigs near current breaks and rocky points produces consistent results.
