The Encampment River in the Sierra Madre Range of southern Wyoming is a beautiful freestone stream offering excellent wild trout fishing in a remote wilderness setting. The river holds healthy populations of brown and rainbow trout and is accessible via the Encampment River Trail through the Medicine Bow National Forest. Light tackle and small dry flies are most effective in the clear, fast-moving water.
