About this water
Arkabutla Lake is a 33,000-acre US Army Corps of Engineers reservoir in DeSoto County in the northwest corner of Mississippi. It is well known for excellent crappie and catfish fishing, with largemouth bass also present in good numbers. The lake's shallow, timber-filled coves are especially productive in spring, and it is one of the most visited fishing lakes in the northern part of the state.
