Weepah Spring Wilderness Area

Weepah Spring Wilderness Area encompasses over 51,000 acres of federally protected backcountry in Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management as a designated Wilderness. The area offers primitive desert and semi-arid landscape ideal for hikers and backpackers seeking solitude and untracked exploration away from developed infrastructure.

As a federally designated Wilderness, the area is closed to all motorized travel, mechanized equipment, and mountain bikes. Visitors must travel on foot or horseback and adhere to Leave No Trace principles—pack out all waste, camp away from water sources, and minimize impact on the land. There are no maintained trails, roads, or facilities within the Wilderness; access requires navigation skills and self-sufficiency.

Visitors should prepare for remote desert conditions with limited water availability and extreme temperature swings between seasons. Spring and fall typically offer the most comfortable hiking windows, while summers can be intensely hot and winters may bring snow at higher elevations.
