Trigo Mountain (North) Wilderness Area

Trigo Mountain (North) Wilderness Area encompasses 16,605 acres of federally protected backcountry in Arizona, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is genuine wilderness—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Visitors come here to hike and backpack in solitude across primitive terrain, where Leave No Trace ethics are both required and essential to preserving the landscape.

Access is on foot only. The area demands self-sufficiency: navigation skills, water planning, and a commitment to leaving no trace are non-negotiable. Spring and fall offer moderate conditions, while summer heat can be intense in the low desert. Winter is generally passable but weather-dependent.
