Rawhide Mountains Wilderness Area

Rawhide Mountains Wilderness Area is a 39,094-acre federally protected Wilderness in Arizona managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This primitive backcountry is open to non-motorized recreation only—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to explore the landscape, with opportunities for solitude in a true wilderness setting.

Visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles and follow all wilderness regulations. Access points and trailheads vary; plan ahead for parking and water sources. Spring and fall typically offer the most comfortable conditions, though summer is also viable at higher elevations. Winter can bring snow and cold that may limit access.
