Pine Forest Range Wilderness Area

Pine Forest Range Wilderness Area is a 27,553-acre federally designated Wilderness in northern Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive backcountry where motorized travel, mechanized equipment, and maintained roads are prohibited—visitors travel on foot or horseback only. The area offers backpacking and hiking for those seeking genuine solitude and untrammeled landscape. All visitors must follow Leave No Trace principles: pack out what you pack in, camp away from water sources, use established campsites where possible, and respect the wilderness character that makes this place protected in the first place. Access is typically from trailheads on the periphery; check current conditions and water availability with the BLM before heading out, as this high-desert wilderness can be remote and exposed.
