About NeedlesEye Wilderness Area

Needles Eye Wilderness Area spans 8,711 acres of federally protected backcountry in Arizona, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive terrain open only to non-motorized travel—no roads, motors, or mechanized equipment are permitted. Visitors come here to hike and backpack in genuine solitude, away from development and infrastructure.

Access means your own two feet or, where allowed, pack animals. The landscape and trails are not heavily developed or maintained; you're navigating wild country. Success depends on solid navigation skills, self-sufficiency, and a commitment to Leave No Trace principles. Camp only in designated areas where permitted, pack out all waste, and respect the wilderness character that makes this place worth the effort.
