About Little Lake Creek Wilderness

Little Lake Creek Wilderness is a 3,956-acre federally protected wilderness area in Texas, managed by the Forest Service. The area offers primitive backcountry hiking and backpacking in a non-motorized setting where solitude and Leave No Trace principles define the experience.

As a designated Wilderness Area, Little Lake Creek operates under strict protection: no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Visitors must travel on foot and pack out everything they pack in. This is backcountry in its truest sense—a place for self-reliant hikers and backpackers seeking quiet time away from developed infrastructure and human noise.
