Jennie Lakes Wilderness

Jennie Lakes Wilderness is a 10,497-acre federally protected wilderness area managed by the Forest Service in California. It offers backcountry hiking and backpacking in a primitive, non-motorized environment where solitude and Leave No Trace principles are central to the experience. No roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted—access is by foot only, which preserves the landscape's wild character and limits visitor density.

The wilderness is best visited during warmer months when snow has melted and trails are passable. Spring through early fall provides the widest window for safe travel, though conditions can vary year to year. Winter travel is possible but requires mountaineering skills and specialized equipment.
