Hauser Wilderness

Hauser Wilderness is a 7,197-acre federally protected Wilderness Area in California, managed by the Forest Service. It preserves a primitive backcountry landscape where motorized travel, mechanized equipment, and built infrastructure are prohibited—the defining character of any federally designated Wilderness.

The area is suited to non-motorized recreation: hiking, backpacking, and camping in solitude are the primary draws. Visitors should expect genuine backcountry conditions and self-sufficiency. There are no roads, maintained trails, or developed facilities within the Wilderness boundary.

Visitors must follow Leave No Trace principles and all Wilderness regulations. Access requires traveling on foot; pack out everything you pack in, camp only where permitted, and respect the land's primitive character. The Forest Service manages this area to preserve its wild character for present and future visitors.
