Grant Range Wilderness

Grant Range Wilderness is a 52,451-acre federally protected wilderness area in Nevada, managed by the Forest Service. It offers backcountry hiking and backpacking in a primitive, non-motorized landscape where solitude and self-reliance define the experience.

As a designated Wilderness Area, the land is roadless and closed to all motors and mechanized travel. Visitors must travel on foot or horseback, carrying what they need and following Leave No Trace principles. There are no developed facilities or maintained infrastructure; this is genuine backcountry where route-finding and wilderness skills matter.

Access is seasonal. Spring snowmelt and winter conditions make early and late months challenging; the core hiking and backpacking season runs through late summer and early fall. Plan for a remote, self-sufficient experience in a landscape defined by silence, distance, and minimal human presence.
