Granite Mountain Wilderness (Az)

Granite Mountain Wilderness is a 9,809-acre federally protected wilderness area in Arizona, managed by the Forest Service. It offers primitive backcountry hiking and backpacking in a non-motorized setting where solitude and self-reliance define the experience. All mechanized travel, mountain bikes, and motors are prohibited; visitors must travel on foot, allowing the landscape to remain undeveloped and wild.

The wilderness follows strict Leave No Trace principles—you pack out what you pack in, camp responsibly away from water sources, and respect the land's fragile condition. There are no roads or maintained facilities within the boundary.
