Far South Egans Wilderness Area

Far South Egans Wilderness Area encompasses 36,322 acres of federally protected backcountry in Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive, non-motorized terrain where solitude and self-reliance define the experience. Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to explore the landscape; no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted within the wilderness boundary.

Visitors must practice Leave No Trace principles and be prepared for remote, rugged conditions. Access is foot-traffic only, and you are responsible for navigation, water, and shelter. The wilderness preserves a raw desert and mountain environment far from developed infrastructure.
