Bristlecone Wilderness Area encompasses 14,329 acres of federally protected backcountry in Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is genuine wilderness—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel are permitted. Visitors come here to hike and backpack through remote terrain, seeking the solitude and self-reliance that primitive backcountry offers.

Access requires leaving your vehicle behind and traveling on foot. The wilderness operates under strict Leave No Trace principles: pack out everything you pack in, camp only in designated areas or follow dispersed camping rules, and use established trails to minimize impact.
