Porter's Prow is a climbing area in the Washakie Ranger District of Wyoming's Shoshone National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. It sits in a cluster of climbing spots that includes Heavy Metal Rock Band and The School, both within a quarter mile, and Sinks Canyon Campground about 0.7 miles away. The area is a small, sport climbing-focused crag. Five routes are listed, all sport routes, with grades ranging from 5.7 to 5.11+. Among them are Brewing Bunny, a 5.7, and Porter's Steep Side, a 5.11. Summer is the warmest stretch for a visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 86°F and lows near 56°F, with September cooling to highs near 73°F. That station sits about 1,300 feet lower than the crag, so temperatures up here run cooler. Winter is harsh, with January highs around 35°F and lows near 13°F. Nearby, the Popo Agie Nature Trail and Lower Blue Ridge hikes are each within half a mile. Paddlers can find the Middle Popo Agie River about 3.7 miles away, and Sinks Canyon Campground offers camping just under a mile off.
