Jackson Hole is a climbing area in the Gros Ventre Wilderness, part of the Jackson Ranger District of Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits within designated wilderness. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Jackson run to highs around 79°F in July and 78°F in August, with lows near 40°F. That station sits about 1,350 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. The climbing here is all sport, with three routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.12c/d. Fat Albert is the easiest at 5.7, and Charlie's Traverse is the hardest at 5.12c/d. Several other outings lie close by. Crystal Butte and the Crystal Butte Trail are each within a mile, and the Nelson Knoll Trail is about 0.9 miles away. For an overnight stay, Curtis Canyon Campground is roughly 3.9 miles off.
