The Eastern Big Horns is a climbing area in Wyoming's Bighorn National Forest, within the Tongue Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the climbing is spread across a range of styles and grades. The area offers a mix of traditional routes, sport climbs and bouldering, with 23 routes in total. Among them are Squirrel, a traditional 5.7, and Castaway, a 5.8. The hardest climb here is Time in Space, a 5.11c/d trad route. Sport climbers will find Chode to Tanner at 5.11b, and boulderers can pick up boulders graded V0-1 to V2. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Burgess Junction run to highs around 71°F in July with lows near 42°F, while winter highs stay near freezing. Several other spots lie close by. The Sawmill and Upper Sawmill Lake hikes are within about 2.5 miles, and West Fork Big Goose Creek offers paddling about 3 miles out. For an overnight stay, Ranger Creek Campground is roughly 6 miles away.
