Six Lakes is a 4-mile out-and-back hike in Wyoming's Gros Ventre Wilderness, within the Jackson Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The trail rises about 175 feet from a low point of 9,255 feet to a high of 9,488 feet, and it is rated moderate. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is on natural surface. Horses are allowed, and bikes are not. The trail is open from May 1 through October 31. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Darwin run to highs around 72°F in July, with lows near 35°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the hike run cooler. Nearby options include Crystal Creek Trail, West Fork Crystal Cr. and Jagg Creek, all within about 3.5 miles. For paddling, the Gros Ventre River is about 6 miles away.
