Cedar Creek is a hard hike in Wyoming's Forest Service lands, about 0.8 miles from the community of Star Valley Ranch. The trail is an out-and-back of about 6.2 miles, with a one-way climb of roughly 1,258 feet from a low point of about 6,382 feet to a high of about 7,640 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 43°F, and July and August have the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher parts of the route run cooler. The trail is natural-surface and accessible. Bikes and horses are both allowed. Within a mile or so are the walking park, Vista-Prator and Valley View. For an overnight stay, Moose Flat Campground is about 8.7 miles away.
