Alkali Cr is a moderate out-and-back hike in Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest, within the Jackson Ranger District. The trail runs about 5.7 miles, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,762 feet, from a low point of 7,292 feet to a high of 9,057 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Darwin run to highs around 72°F in July, with lows near 35°F. That station sits about 867 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. Horses are allowed, and bikes are not. Crystal Creek Campground is about 2.6 miles away, and the Haystack Trail is about 1.7 miles off. Slate Creek offers canoeing about 2.9 miles away, and Grizzly Lake is about 3 miles away.
