The Narrows Campground sits at the edge of the Wind River Range in northwestern Wyoming, within the Pinedale Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. It lies next to New Fork Lake, in a dense grove of aspens at about 7,800 feet. Most sites offer lake views, and the forest is thick with shade. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Cora weather station, which sits a few hundred feet lower, run to highs around 78°F in July with lows near 39°F. Winters there are severe, with January highs in the mid-20s. The Forest Service manages the land, and the access road to the campground is not paved. Drinking water is not available, and food storage is required. Vault toilets are the only restroom facility. Hikers and riders can head into the Bridger Wilderness from the campground. The Boulder Basin/Lowline Trail and New Fork Lake Group Campground are both about 2 miles away. New Fork Park, a climbing area, is roughly 5 miles off, and the New Fork River offers paddling about 6.5 miles away.
