White Oak Nature Trail is a loop cross-country ski route in Lake Kegonsa State Park in Wisconsin, about a mile long with a total elevation gain of 26 feet. The loop climbs to a high point of 902 feet and descends to 857 feet, with a short stretch around the 0.9-mile mark reaching a 4% grade. The trail is managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. Winter is the natural season for skiing here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Stoughton show January highs around 27°F with lows near 10°F, and February is similar at about 31°F. The station sits at nearly the same elevation as the trail, so those figures are a fair guide to what to expect on the snow. The trail is rated moderate, and dogs are not allowed. Within half a mile you'll find the Prairie Trail and the Bluebird Trail, both cross-country ski routes. Farther out, the Lower Yahara River Trail offers mountain biking about 5 miles away, and the West Waubesa Trail is a hike roughly 5.5 miles off.
