NT E-V is a short, easy cross-country ski route in Northern Highland State Forest in northern Wisconsin, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The route is an out-and-back that starts and ends at nearly the same elevation, with a total climb of 23 feet and a length of about 0.6 miles. It's a flat, gentle outing, and the trail profile shows no real change in grade along the way. The route makes an easy addition to a longer ski day on the forest's network of ski routes. The nearest neighbors are NT E-H, about 0.1 mile away, and NT H-J, about 0.2 mile away. NT Bb-C and NT C-D are each about 0.3 mile away, so the trail fits into a loop or a series of short connectors. Winter is the natural season for this ski route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Rest Lake show January highs around 20°F with lows near 0°F and snow on about eight days that month. Spring and fall bring fewer snow days, with snow mostly gone by May and October. Dogs are allowed, so the route works for a ski outing with a dog.
