Anthrax Wall is a climbing area in Wisconsin, about 2.4 miles from the town of Strongs Prairie. It sits among a cluster of named climbing spots, including Above Anthrax, Hell Wall (aka Quarry Wall) and Necedah (Petenwell Rock), all within a tenth of a mile. That makes it a natural anchor for a day of rock climbing in this part of the state. The area offers a mix of trad and sport routes, with the hardest climbing reaching 5.11c. Among the nine routes listed, trad is the dominant style, and the grades typically fall between 5.7 and 5.11c. Notable routes include Fistful of Metal at 5.8 and Anita at 5.11c, both with climbers named on their first ascents. The sport route Anthrax is also listed. Summer is the warmest stretch for a visit. Typical averages from the nearby Necedah weather station show July highs around 84°F with lows near 58°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock may run slightly cooler.
