Upper River Run is a short, easy cross-country ski route in the Methow Valley Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest in Washington. The out-and-back trip covers about 2 miles, with a low point of 2,227 feet and a high of 2,262 feet, and the climb is gentle, with a total elevation gain of about 31 feet. The steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.05 miles in, with a grade of about 4 percent. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mazama show January highs around 29°F with lows near 16°F, while June runs warmer, with highs around 75°F. The station sits a few hundred feet lower than the route, so temperatures on the trail run slightly cooler. Jack's and Upper Jack's, both cross-country ski routes, lie within a few tenths of a mile. Goat Wall, a climbing area, is about 1.2 miles away, and Early Winters Campground is about 2.6 miles off.
