Segelsen Road is a cross-country skiing route in Washington, about 0.8 miles from the community of Barco. The trip is an out-and-back, roughly 2.6 miles round trip, and the climb to the high point of about 1,490 feet adds around 900 feet of elevation gain over the course of the route. That makes it an easy outing for skiers looking to spend a day on the snow. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Darrington run from highs around 40°F with lows near 30°F in January to highs in the upper 70s in July and August, but that station sits well below the road and the high point, so temperatures up high run cooler. Ashton Creek, about 3 miles away, offers canoeing. Round Mountain is a hike about 3.7 miles off. Paddlers can also reach the North Fork Stillaguamish River, about 4 miles away. For an overnight stay, Clear Creek Campground is about 6.7 miles from the road.
