Ptarmigan Ridge is a ski touring route in the Mount Baker Wilderness, part of the Mt. Baker Ranger District of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land. The route is an out-and-back that starts at about 5,176 feet and reaches a high point of 6,141 feet, with a total climb of 2,194 feet over 4.7 miles. The climb is steady, and the steepest section comes early, at about 0.23 miles from the start, where the grade reaches 23%. That makes for a long, sustained effort, and the route folds back on itself, so the total descent matches the total gain. Ptarmigan Ridge Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and Table Mountain is 0.2 mile off. Silver Fir Campground is about 4 miles away, and Bar Creek offers a paddling route a little farther out.
