Mom's is a short, low-elevation cross-country ski route in the Mt. Baker Ranger District of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington, managed by the Forest Service. The out-and-back trip covers about a mile, with a high point of 2,032 feet and a total climb of 90 feet, so it's a gentle outing rather than a serious ascent. The route starts at about 2,023 feet and reaches its peak within the first 0.06 miles, where the grade briefly hits 6 percent. The rest of the way is nearly flat, with the same amount of descent as ascent. That makes it an easy addition to a day spent exploring the surrounding area. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Upper Baker Dam show July and August highs around 74 to 75°F with only seven or eight wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s and frequent snow days. Several other destinations sit close by. Salmon Ridge X-Country Ski and Silver Fir Campground are each about 0.1 mile away, and the River Trail is about 0.4 mile off. Baker Crags, a climbing area, is roughly 0.8 mile away.
