Riverview Columns is a climbing area in Washington's Columbia Basin Wildlife Area Complex, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. Several other climbing areas sit right next to it, including Bill's Wall, Millennium Wall and (d) Coyote Wall, each about 0.1 mile away, so the whole cluster makes an easy-to-reach destination for climbers exploring the area. The climbing here is a mix of sport and trad routes, with sport routes making up five of the eight listed. The grades run from 5.8 to 5.10d, with a median of 5.10a. The hardest route is The Inverted Trance of a Rapturous Nocternity, a 5.10d sport climb, and Aeolachrymation, a 5.8 sport route, is the easiest. Climbers will find a range of styles to choose from, including the trad route Dusk and Her Embrace at 5.10a. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable, with typical averages from a nearby weather station in Quincy showing May highs around 73°F and September highs around 78°F, with fewer wet days than the cooler months. That station sits at a similar elevation to the climbing area, so its figures should be a fair guide to conditions here.
