Darrington and Mountain Loop Hwy is a climbing area in Washington's Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, within the Darrington Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land. The area is a mix of bouldering and alpine climbing. Six routes are listed, with four boulders graded V0-1 to V2 and two alpine routes in the 5.5 to 5.7 range. Among the boulders are (Scree)min' Demon at V0-1 and Safety Fourth at V2. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July and August highs run around 72°F with lows near 54°F, and those months see the fewest wet days of the year, based on averages from a nearby weather station. Winter brings frequent rain and snow, with highs in the low 40s and about 20 wet days a month from November through March. The closest routes are Elliot Creek and the Lower Elliott Trail, both about 0.3 miles away. Paddlers can reach the South Fork Sauk River about 1.4 miles off, and Bedal Campground offers camping about 3.5 miles away.
