Bend Center is a climbing area in Washington, about 3.7 miles from the town of Tieton. It is a cluster of rock, with several named climbing areas right next door, including Bend North and Bend West, each about 0.1 mile away. The area is a traditional climber's playground. Eleven routes are listed, all rated trad, with grades ranging from 5.8 to 5.11d. Some of the routes, like Ed's Jam at 5.8 and Janet's Route at 5.9, are on the lower end of the scale, while Community Project is the hardest at 5.11d. For timing, late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Yakima put May highs around 74°F and September highs around 79°F. That station sits about 930 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures at the rock run cooler. Summer is the warmest stretch, with typical July and August highs near 88°F. Working Class Wall is about 1.1 miles away, and Tieton Nature Trail is about a mile off. For an overnight stay, Windy Point Campground is about 4.1 miles away.
