Windust Park is a campground in Washington, managed by the Army Corps of Engineers and located about half a mile from the town of Windust. It is a simple base for an overnight stay close to town, and it sits on land the Corps oversees rather than on a national forest or state park. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 74°F and September highs near 79°F, with fewer wet days than the rest of the year. July and August run hotter, with highs in the low 90s, and winter highs stay in the upper 30s. The closest neighbor is Devils Bench Boat Ramp, about 3 miles away, which gives paddlers a launch point for the water nearby.
