Goodell Creek Campground is a small, primitive campground along Goodell Creek near Newhalem, Washington, within Ross Lake National Recreation Area and managed by the National Park Service. It offers a quieter alternative for an overnight stay, with a forest setting and direct access to the creek. Summer is the most comfortable time to camp here. In July and August, the nearby Newhalem weather station records typical average highs of about 78 to 79°F and lows around 54°F, with far fewer wet days than in the rest of the year. Several outings start within a short walk. Trail of the Cedars and the Newhalem Gen Store to Newhalem CG hike are each about 0.3 miles away, and climbers can reach the Upper Skagit Valley area, roughly 0.2 miles off. Paddlers will find the Skagit River about 2 miles from camp.
