Central District is a bouldering area in Virginia, about a mile from the town of Verdon. It is a small climbing spot with two boulder problems, This World at V3 and Is Sick at V5, both rated on the V scale. The area is close to the Blue Trail, a hike less than a mile away, and Polecat Creek, a canoeing spot about 6 miles off. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ashland show May highs around 77°F and October highs near 69°F, while July averages about 87°F. For more time outdoors, the Blue Trail is the closest neighbor. Polecat Creek offers paddling, and the Big Downhill and Jump Trail Transition mountain biking routes lie within about 7 miles.
