The Bull Run-Occoquan Trail is a black diamond singletrack mountain biking route in Fountainhead Regional Park, on county land about 1.2 miles from Lakewood Estates, Virginia. It is a short, intense ride of under a mile round trip, with a total climb of about 66 feet from a low point of 125 feet to a high of 191 feet. The trail is rated hard and is described as a test piece for riders with advanced skills. Its technical difficulty and unforgiving nature make it a challenge for experienced mountain bikers. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Manassas weather station show May highs around 74°F and September highs near 78°F, while July averages reach 88°F. The closest trails include the Green Loop Trail, the Blue Equestrian Trail and the White Loop, all about 1.6 miles away. Climbers can find Cross Country Trail Boulders roughly 7.8 miles off.
