Red Eft Boulder is a bouldering area in Vermont, managed by the National Park Service and set within the Rochester Ranger District of the Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forests. It sits along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and the closest town is Rochester. The climbing here is all bouldering, with six routes ranging from V0- to V3. The Red Eft and Green Eft boulders are among them, and Shaky Flake is the easiest. The area is close to several other boulders, including Dirty Crack Boulder and Invisible Boulder, each about 0.1 mile away. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Rutland show July highs around 80°F with lows near 56°F, and the station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the boulders, so temperatures up high run cooler. The Appalachian Trail passes within about 0.2 mile, and Kent Brook Trail is about 0.8 mile away. Paddlers can reach the Ottauquechee River, about 3.6 miles off.
