Under-The-Rim Trail is a long, steep out-and-back hike in Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, managed by the National Park Service. The route stretches about 44 miles round trip, with a one-way elevation gain of 5,416 feet, from a low point of about 6,773 feet to a high of about 9,045 feet. It is an expert-level hike, and a fee is charged. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 52°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. That station sits about 1,155 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the rim run cooler. The trail starts close to several other routes, including the Riggs Spring Loop Trail and the Bristlecone Loop Trailhead at Rainbow Point, all within about a tenth of a mile.
