Serendipity is an easy out-and-back hike on Bureau of Land Management land within the Vernal Field Office in Utah, about 2.3 miles long and with a total elevation gain of 362 feet. The trail starts and ends at about 5,296 feet and reaches a high point of 5,664 feet. The route's natural surface makes it suitable for hiking, and bikes are allowed, though horses are not. That gives hikers and riders a flexible option for a short outing. The climb is modest, so the hike works well as a quick walk or a stop on the way to another destination. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable months. Typical averages from the nearby Vernal weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages about 89°F. The trail sits close to other outings. The Jackalope mountain biking route is about 0.3 miles away, and the Got Milk? and Combo hikes are both within about 1.5 miles. For paddling, Ashley Creek lies roughly 9.6 miles away.
