The Scenic Byway is a 9-mile out-and-back hike in the Heber-Kamas Ranger District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah. The trail runs from a low point of about 7,422 feet to a high point of about 7,781 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 370 feet. It is a hard route, and the trail surface is natural. Bikes and horses are both allowed, but the trail is not accessible. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Kamas show July highs around 84°F with lows near 50°F, and September highs around 74°F with lows near 41°F. That station sits roughly 1,300 feet below the trail's high point, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. The trail is open from June 1 to October 31. Pine Valley campground is about 0.2 miles away, and the Scenic Byway Trail and the Norway Flat Snomo Marked cross-country ski route are both within a third of a mile.
