Preserve is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Utah, about 2 miles from the town of Jeremy Ranch. The route is 1.4 miles long, with a low point of 7,536 feet and a high of 7,570 feet, so the climb is a small one at just 22 feet of elevation gain. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station in Park City run around 80°F for highs and 53°F for lows, and the station sits roughly 700 feet lower than the hike's high point, so temperatures on the trail run a bit cooler. Several other outings sit close by. Flying Dog is about 0.7 miles away, and the Cobblestone Loop and Cobblestone Trail mountain biking routes are each within about a mile. For a longer outing, the Wasatch Back climbing area is about 4 miles off.
