Oak Creek Trail is a 12-mile out-and-back hike in Utah's Fishlake National Forest, within the Fremont River Ranger District. The trail rises from about 6,158 feet to a high point of 7,597 feet, a climb of 1,453 feet, and is rated hard. The Forest Service manages the land. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and pack animals as well as hikers. It is open year-round. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Boulder, Utah, run to highs around 68°F in May and 74°F in September, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits roughly 950 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Slickrock Trail starts less than a mile away, and Quaking Aspen is about 1.3 miles off. Lower Bowns campground is 1.4 miles away, and Green Lake, a fishing spot, is about 6 miles out.
